The Vocal Intelligence Method

A practical five-step approach to free the voice, sharpen clarity, and project without shouting.

What you say is shaped by what you think and how you use your body. Emotion shows up in tone. If you are tense, breath shortens and sound becomes strained. A locked jaw muddies diction; low confidence keeps volume soft. Vocal Intelligence rebuilds that mind–body–voice chain with clear, teachable steps.

  1. Step 1: Analyse your voice and set goals

Breath, tension release, and the mind–body–voice connection.

We analyse your voice and set goals with you, then introduce the breathing connection that frees tension holding you back. We “wire you up for sound” so you can see — and hear — how your voice works.

  2. Step 2: Posture, stance, and vocal range

How standing and shape of the body change speaking presence.

We show how posture and stance influence your ability to speak, then explore vocal range so you discover the variety available in your voice — and keep people interested in what you say.

  3. Step 3: Jaw freedom and clear articulation

Mouth mechanics, clarity, and accent adjustment.

Exercises release the jaw and move the mouth so ideas land clearly. We adjust accents by changing how you move muscles and mind — with results that arrive fast.

  4. Step 4: Variety, phrasing, and interest

Make presentations sound alive without sounding theatrical.

You learn respect for words and phrasing, adding variety and interest so presentations sound strong and listeners stay with you.

  5. Step 5: Projection without shouting

Use the body as a speaker box; review progress with lasting support.

Our projection technique helps you be heard without strain — vibrating sound through the body while staying secure and confident. We review progress and remain available to clients afterwards.

Lineage

Voice craft with serious roots

Pedagogy drawn from Iris Warren’s work at LAMDA, Kristin Linklater’s freeing of the natural voice, Cicely Berry with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Jo Estill’s work for speakers and singers informs how we coach. Emotional Intelligence and NLP sit alongside those craft traditions in every Vocal Intelligence program.
